<strong>Position Summary<br><br></strong>The Material Handler is a functional role that includes order picking, stocking, packaging, and other material handling tasks to ensure timely and accurate shipments are made to our customers using various indicators or signals. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position may also be required to learn, perform, and/or be certified to assist in other areas of Warehouse Operations, including material control, traffic, or others as assigned.<br><br>PAY: $21.56<br><br>*This position is a full time direct hire position and follows STERIS bi-weekly pay policy*<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>At the direction of the supervisor, this employee will assist the supervisor or the shipping clerk in the loading of drayage or direct outbound truck lines by directing the fork truck driver to bring correct materials and correctly counting all freight.</li><li>Must be capable of assembling products for shipment through various parcel services using necessary shipping equipment and procedures.</li><li>Must be capable of safely operating and electrically recharging the order picker equipment.</li><li>Must exercise extreme caution in order to not damage other material or property while operating the order picker equipment and must at all times exercise extreme caution for the safety of other employees.</li><li>Is responsible for proper daily operation and complete proper set up of semi-automatic label application equipment.</li><li>Must maintain written and/or electronic records as required by management (i.e. cGMP and ISO procedures).</li><li>Is responsible for picking, labeling, packing, checking, preparing for shipment, documenting, ship confirming, and palletizing small parcel orders using whatever typical equipment is provided for this purpose.</li><li>Is responsible for keeping shipping area, equipment, and surrounding work area clean at all times.</li><li>Under the direction and monitoring of department supervisor, is responsible for the training of a replacement Order Filler.</li><li>Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required<br><br></strong><strong>Skills, Abilities, and Experience: <br><br></strong><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.</li><li>Basic math and writing skills.</li><li>May be expected to move, carry, and lift approximately 60 pounds.</li><li>May be expected to climb heights of approximately 15 feet, and stand for long periods of time.</li><li>Good hand/eye coordination.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred<br><br></strong><ul><li>Previous Forklift and/or Order Picker experience is desirable.</li><li>Performs necessary quality and inventory control data gathering and input in either written or electronic formats.</li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision, and have basic computer skills. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Other<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed<br><br></li></ul><strong>What STERIS Offers<br><br></strong>We value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future.<br><br>Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:<br><br><ul><li>Extensive Paid Time Off and (9) added holidays</li><li>Excellent Healthcare, Dental and Vision Benefits after 45 days</li><li>Long/Short Term disability coverage</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Maternity & Paternal Leave after 1yr</li><li>Additional add-on benefits/discounts for programs such as Pet Insurance</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement and continued educations programs</li><li>Excellent opportunities for advancement and stable long-term career<br><br></li></ul>Pay rate for this opportunity is $21.56/hour.
