The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.

ABOUT THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Senior Manager, Public Relations, this role requires someone who knows how to effectively communicate with the press and analyst community, particularly in high-pressure or crisis situations, in a way that strengthens SITA’s reputation rather than simply managing it. The role owns SITA’s earned media presence and its reputation among key external audiences that influence market perception, with a clear mandate to build strong relationships with the press and analysts, protect the company’s reputation when under pressure, and ensure the internal organization remains informed and aligned on external communications

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Media relations

  • Build and own SITA's relationships with aviation trade media, enterprise technology press, and relevant mainstream outlets. This is a proactive, strategic role focused on creating compelling stories that generate coverage, not simply issuing announcements.
  • Set the press calendar, govern content quality, and assess coverage based on narrative alignment and placement quality rather than volume.

Analyst relations

  • Own SITA’s engagement with aviation technology and sector-specific analysts, managing positioning, structured interactions, and ongoing perception tracking.
  • Recognize and leverage the commercial impact of analyst relationships on purchasing decisions.

Crisis communications

  • You are the person who picks up the phone at 11pm. You maintain and activate a current crisis communications playbook, ensuring readiness for rapid and effective response.
  • Lead spokesperson training and ensure timely, clear communication during reputational events.

Internal communications

  • Oversee internal communications, including employee messaging, leadership forums, and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment across the organization.

Reputation strategy

  • Across all four areas, you are building a systematic approach to how SITA is perceived. You track reputation indicators deliberately (media sentiment, analyst positioning, share of voice against competitors) and you use that data to make decisions.
  • You move the needle on reputation over time, not just manage it in the moment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In year one, success means SITA has a functioning, proactive press program, journalists in the aviation trade press are receiving pitches from SITA rather than only calls from SITA asking for coverage. The analyst engagement cycle is structured and running. The crisis playbook exists, has been tested, and the spokespeople have been trained. Internal communications is operating to a calendar rather than reacting to events.

In year two, success means SITA is a source journalists turn to when they are writing about aviation technology trends, not just a vendor who issues press releases. Analysts are incorporating SITA positioning into their research. When something goes wrong operationally, the response is fast, coherent, and limits reputational damage. The internal organization feels informed and connected to where the company is going.
