Squarespace Performance Optimization Expert Needed to Improve Mobile LCP

We are looking for an experienced Squarespace performance optimization specialist to help improve mobile PageSpeed performance, specifically focused on reducing Largest Contentful Paint, also known as LCP.

This is not a general website audit. We need someone who understands the limitations and available optimization options within Squarespace and can implement practical fixes directly on the site.

Important:

Because this site is built on Squarespace, we are not looking for recommendations involving server-side changes, HTTP/2 push, custom build pipelines, advanced hosting configuration, or anything that Squarespace does not allow. We need someone who knows how to work within Squarespace’s actual tools and constraints.

Scope of Work:

The selected freelancer will review the site’s current PageSpeed and Lighthouse results, identify the main causes of poor mobile LCP, and implement fixes directly in Squarespace.

Likely areas to review include:

Hero image sizing, loading behavior, and preload strategy

Squarespace image settings and responsive image handling

Lazy-loading behavior

Google Fonts or custom font loading

Third-party scripts such as analytics, chat widgets, social embeds, or tracking pixels

Code injection in the head and footer

Custom CSS or JavaScript that may be delaying rendering

Squarespace-specific scripts or layout issues affecting mobile performance

Deliverables:

Implemented performance improvements, not just a written audit

Before-and-after PageSpeed or Lighthouse screenshots or reports

Clear summary of what was changed

Explanation of any remaining limitations due to Squarespace

Recommendations for maintaining performance going forward

Ideal Candidate:

You should have direct experience optimizing Squarespace websites for Core Web Vitals, especially mobile LCP. Please do not apply if your experience is only with WordPress, Shopify, custom-coded sites, or server-level performance work.

A strong candidate will be able to explain what Squarespace-specific levers are available and which common performance recommendations are not possible on the platform.

To Apply:

Please include:

Examples of Squarespace sites you have optimized

Before-and-after performance results, if available

Your approach to improving mobile LCP on Squarespace

Any Squarespace-specific limitations you would check first

Your estimated timeline and fixed-price or hourly rate
